Early on, I developed a passion for Public Health, wellness, and lifestyle management. As I progressed through my professional career, I worked as a personal trainer, exercise physiologist, as well as a health coach.
My experience ranges from working in gyms to developing action plans for individuals looking to lower their chances of developing cardiovascular disease. As time went on, my career path changed and I began working in the area of clinical research.
I went from prevention to treatment on the wellness spectrum. Spending the past 15 years working with pharmaceutical companies, helping them deliver groundbreaking therapies, has been stressful, but extremely rewarding.
With the daily challenges everyone faces trying to balance work and family, I found myself suffering from anxiety and very short on patience. The stress began to manifest itself through unhealthy weight changes and hair loss. Something had to be done and I started looking for ways to manage the stress.
I found it very surprising that I was having difficulty with this because I used to coach people on stress management. I discovered that the 10 minutes I spent in a morning bath with lavender essential oil, or a citrus fragrance oil spray, set the mood for the rest of my day. Simply lighting a candle and inhaling the fragrance would give me the sense of peace I needed in that moment.
My career has adventured from lifestyle management to focusing on stress management. I invite you all to embark on this journey with me. I hope to form a community of individuals, eager to learn more about ways to manage stress and empower one another in finding their own optimal state of wellness.
